Your answer is virtually the same as #4, above, with the added benefit of introducing your students to potential graduate educators or employers in your region and in the nation. It seems like the same programs should dominate the Festival over time but that has not proven to be the case.
Each
year students from a wide variety of schools come to the Regional Festivals
and National Festival in productions and as finalists in the various award
categories. The National
Festival has featured productions from large MFA training programs,
mid-sized public and private schools, liberal arts colleges, and community
colleges on a regular basis without “weighting” the evaluation of the
shows to get that result. The finalists in the Irene Ryan Scholarship
competition, the Barbizon Design Awards, the National Critics’ Institute
and other categories have come from all over the nation and from all kinds
