Dell'Arte International and KCACTF are proud to announce the Dell'Arte/KCACTF Diversity Scholarship program for this year. Students from all cultural, ethnic and economic and backgrounds are encouraged to apply; preference is given to students who assist in Dell'Arte's goal of
expanding the diversity of the student body at the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, based on cultural, ethnic, economic and gender background.

Auditions for the scholarship will be held at KCACTF regionals in 2006. The winner of the Diversity Scholarship will be announced following the final regional, and the recipient will be acknowledged at the Kennedy Center during the national KCACTF. The scholarship is for full tuition for the one-year Physical Theatre Program.

Interested students are requested to participate in the Dell'Arte workshop at their KCACTF regional, and to meet after the workshop for the scholarship auditions. Students should have prepared pieces and they will be given the opportunity to present them during the auditions. The Dell'Arte instructor will also present group exercises for students to participate in as part of the audition.

Auditioning students are required to present a simple song, a published contemporary monologue in English, a three minute theatrical"autobiography" of your own invention, based on your own life. The
autobiography need not be the story of your life but a story from your life. Candidates are requested to draw on any skill, any style, any convention. Dell'Arte is interested in your imagination, sense of
dynamics, poetry, the ridiculous, and your approach to the creation of original theatre.

The Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre, as well as a member of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, Theatre Bay Area, the National Movement Theatre Association, the Southeastern Theatre Conference, Theatre Communications Group and the Mime Action Group in Europe.
