DAVID MARK COHEN AWARD
(Full-Length Play or Musical)

Submission deadline is November 1.  The play or musical may be student written or written by a working playwright as guest or resident artist or by a faculty member. 

All student-written plays are to be submitted both to the Regional Playwriting Chair and to the National Office.  All non-student plays should be submitted to the Regional Chair only.

Please include with your submission the official cover sheet for Full Length Plays.

To be eligible:

The play must be produced by a college or university or publicly presented in a “rehearsed” or “staged reading” format following a significant development process.  The play must be entered, as an Associate or Participating entry, in the KCACTF. It must comply with the guidelines for scripts entered in the KCACTF Michael Kanin Playwriting Program.

The play or musical will be read by at least two readers from Region Seven.  The top two choices will be named the Region’s National Semi-Finalists at Region VII’s Festival.   Their work will be held in consideration for the national festival in Washington DC, (typically the third week in April) as potential National Finalists.
