DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY
DTM EXPO LEVELS
There are several levels that you can enter a design. Below is a list of each and options.
ATTENTION!: The design MUST have been completed in the calendar year before the current festival. (January-December) Designs in progress are not eligible and you will be disqualified if discovered at the festival.
You must have been a student in pursuit of a degree at the time of the design.

A
Regional Award for paper or classroom projects and beginning
level designers. This level is for Costume,
Lighting, Scenic, Sound, Hair & Makeup designs that were part
of a class project or a first time design that was
Non-adjudicated for KCACTF.

A Regional Award for
intermediate level designers and Non-adjudicated realized
designs. This level is for Costume,
Lighting, Scenic, Sound, Hair & Makeup designs that were
Non-adjudicated for KCACTF and do not qualify for the Barbizon
Awards. This could include designs for summer stocks,
community theatre, etc. as long as you were a student at the
time.

Formalized Designs that
have been realized, and adjudicated for participation in the
Regional festival. This level is for Costume,
Lighting and Scenic in the Barbizon Awards. Hair &
Makeup designs in the Alcone Awards and Sound designs. This
category also observes all national guidelines established in
each category by KCACTF.

A Regional Award
showcase for Technical Direction, Properties, Costume
construction, painting projects etc. This is a place to
show-off all those unusual and special projects that do not fit
in the other categories.
